The Entrepreneur Effect

Aware of the scale of our platforms, we conducted the Impacts that Matter Study in 2023, in partnership with Euromonitor International, highlighting how our impact drives entrepreneurship, digital transformation, job creation, and financial inclusion.
Using socioeconomic impact data collected from more than 4,000 Mercado Libre sellers across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico—along with consultants serving these sellers and Mercado Pago resellers—this study gives a clear picture of what we call the entrepreneurial effect.
By focusing on small and medium entrepreneurs, Mercado Libre was able to scale its contribution to job creation, economic growth, financial inclusion and digital transformation of SMEs in these countries. The study captured the virtuous effect of our ecosystem as a driver of regional development.
