Sustainable mobility

About the initiative

Sustainable mobility is a fundamental part of our emissions reduction strategy. Our actions in this area are based on three pillars:

Electrification of the fleet

We are working on expanding our electric fleet and charging infrastructure, in partnership with leading market players to accelerate the development of logistics in the region.
In 2024, we increased the number of vans, urban cargo vehicles, motorcycles, and tricycles by nearly 57%, totaling 3,642 units. With one of the largest sustainable fleets in the region, we delivered more than 70 million packages with reduced emissions, preventing the release of 11,098 tCO2.
In Brazil, we also joined the Alliance for Sustainable Mobility, an initiative dedicated to creating solutions that contribute to the future of sustainable mobility. The goal is to install 10,000 public charging stations nationwide by the end of 2025.

Use of alternative fuels

Another effective way to cut emissions from our logistics network is by using low-emission or renewable fuels. To this end, we have a fleet of trucks powered by natural gas, which produces about 18% less carbon than diesel. In Brazil, 15 of these trucks run on biomethane, a fuel made from organic waste, which can reduce fossil emissions by up to 100% compared to diesel. Our alternative fuel fleet is further supported by more than 190 vehicles, including trucks powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and biomethane.

Efficiency

To reduce the emissions of every delivery, we rely on route planning and network systems that allow us to assign the most appropriate vehicles in each location. We invest in real-time driving data measurement systems for our fleet, guaranteeing deliveries that are not only safer and faster, but also more fuel-efficient.

Innovation in Low-Emission Mobility

To scale up the transition to low-carbon logistics, we once again chose innovation. Operating in a region with mostly clean energy and huge potential for developing green alternatives, we decided to select and invest in solutions that will help us reduce the carbon footprint of our delivery service.
In 2024, we partnered with the Newlab laboratory in the US to develop a Low Carbon Logistics Study, focused on identifying and testing emerging technologies that can make significant progress in decarbonizing the sector. To do this, we launched a call that attracted 128 companies and startups from around the world, and selected eight of them to take part in pilot projects in our operations in Brazil, Mexico, and Uruguay. The goal is to assess the feasibility, scalability, and impact of these technologies.
With this initiative, we also want to foster an innovation ecosystem focused on sustainable mobility, strengthening connections between companies, startups, and researchers in the sector.

Energy Management

We increased energy efficiency and the consumption of renewable energy sources in our operations across the region.

Circularidad de materiales tmb.png

Circular Material Use

We look for solutions to reintegrate resources into the production cycle, fostering material circularity. We focus on three areas: reducing, replacing, and recycling, as well as raising awareness across the value chain.
