Mercado Pago expands financial education initiatives for micro-entrepreneurs
Fintech offers training programs in Brazil’s North and Northeast regions

Commitment to financial education
As part of its commitment to financial education, Mercado Pago has been expanding its training initiatives for micro-entrepreneurs across different regions of Brazil. In addition to the Ganhaê, Mulher program, which since 2022 has supported women entrepreneurs in developing financial management skills, and the** Ganhaê nas Ruas** program, launched in February this year to support street vendors during Salvador’s Carnival, Mercado Pago is now supporting small gastronomy businesses in Belém and artisans in Pernambuco.
The initiatives offer training journeys through WhatsApp (BOT), video lessons, in-person workshops and/or individual and group mentoring. In 2025, they have already benefited more than 6,500 businesses, with the goal of reaching 7,000 by December.
At Mercado Libre, we know that growth only makes sense when we bring more people along with us. We want to empower entrepreneurs by expanding access to financial education and digital tools through our ecosystem, leveraging the strengths and opportunities of each territory.
Opportunities at COP 30
In Belém, entrepreneurs in gastronomy, hospitality and the creative economy are taking part in practical training on management, finance, marketing and communication, as well as individual mentoring with local experts and consultants. The goal is to prepare them for sector challenges and for opportunities linked to COP 30, which will take place in November in the city.
COP 30 cannot be only about those who will come, it also needs to be about those who are already in the city. This project will help prepare the entrepreneurs who keep Belém’s daily life thriving, so they are not left out of the opportunities.
Supporting Pernambuco artisans
Artisans and small creative producers from the state of Pernambuco, participants of the largest craft fair in Latin America called Fenearte are receiving support from Mercado Pago through training in financial management, pricing, digitalization and sales strategies. The aim is to strengthen local culture, expand markets and increase business profitability.
Ganhaê nas Ruas
During Salvador’s Carnival, the initiative offered financial education programs for street vendors, helping them take advantage of the intense economic activity and plan their finances beyond the festive season. “In a context where talking about financial education is a challenge, projects like these play an important role in strengthening local economies and generating opportunities for thousands of Brazilians,” notes Laura.
