Mercado Libre expands social investment in Brazil
With funding up 43% from last year, the company is prioritizing the towns where it has its distribution centers.

With a record R$60 million investment planned for 2025, Mercado Libre aims to boost entrepreneurs, partners, and initiatives making a difference across Brazil, strengthening its commitment to the economic and social development of the communities it serves.
This year's call for proposals was structured around two areas of action: economic empowerment, which includes initiatives aimed at generating income and entrepreneurship through culture and productive and financial inclusion; and quality of life, aimed at actions that promote health, sports, and the well-being of the population.
Priority went to projects connected to municipalities that host our distribution centers (DCs), in the states of São Paulo, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, and the Federal District.
"We want to maximize the positive impacts in the communities where we operate, boosting entrepreneurs, organizations, and initiatives that drive economic activity in these areas"
Beyond aligning with Mercado Libre's institutional positioning, the projects must also comply with the following incentive laws: Rouanet Law (Culture) + Audiovisual Law, FIA – Fund for Children and Adolescents, Elderly Persons Act, Recycling Act, Sports Incentive Act, PRONAS (People with Disabilities) and PRONON (Oncology).
